The Romans Road to Salvation

The "Romans Road" to salvation is how you can be saved in a nut shell.  It is a string of verses that can be read, explaining the good news of salvation.  At the end, there is often a short prayer that can be recited through faith.

1. Who needs salvation?[1]

  • Rom 3:23    For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God....

2. Is there anybody "good" on this planet?

  • Rom 3:10    As it is written: "There is none righteous, no not one;"
  • Rom 3:12    ....There is none who does good, no not one.

3. Why do we need salvation?[1]

  • Rom 6:23    For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

4. How does God provide salvation?[1]

  • Rom 5:8     But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (v. 10) For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God…

5. How do we receive salvation?[1]

  • Rom 10:9    That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
  • Rom 10:13     For whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

6. What are the results of salvation?[1]

  • Rom 5:1     Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ....
  • Rom 8:1     There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus....

7. Would you like to follow the Romans Road to salvation?[2]

Saying this prayer is a way to declare to God that you are relying on Jesus Christ for your salvation.[2]

Prayer:  "God, I know that I have sinned against you and am deserving of punishment.  But Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserve so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven.  With your help, I place my trust in You for salvation.  Thank You for Your wonderful grace and forgiveness - the gift of eternal life![2]  Amen!"

The words themselves will not save you.  Only faith in Jesus Christ can provide salvation![2]
