So, what they are saying is that: those who miss the secret rapture will have a 2nd chance to be saved. They will supposedly have 7 years left to make a commitment to accept Christ.
The "Left behind" series quotes ( I Thes 5:2 ) as the biblical proof of this event happening in the near future.
I Thes 5 (v. 2) For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.
Isn’t the thief in the night, supposed to represent the secret rapture?
Matt 24 (v. 42) Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. (v. 43) But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. (v. 44) Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
This is the verse that the "Left Behind" series uses, they say the Bible teaches a "secret rapture"....that Christ comes as a thief in the night....the Son of Man comes when you do not expect Him.
A closer look at the bible will reveal that: This is not a secret coming, but a sudden one, He will come unexpectedly!! Let's read that verse again.
I Thes 5 (v. 2) For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. (v. 3) For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.
Who shall not escape? The people who don't get to leave with Christ, when He comes back for us!! It says "sudden destruction" comes upon them.
Let us now, compare that to another verse:
Rev 22 (v. 12) And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one....
And just before He comes, what is your condition?
Rev 22 (v. 11) He who is unjust, let him be unjust still....he who is righteous, let him be righteous still....
Whenever He comes back....You will stay that way....You will not have 7 years in advance to prepare for it. There is no 2nd chance when Christ comes back!!
Does Jesus come back, once or twice, for His believers?
Matt 24 (v. 30) Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (v. 31) And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
If this were the 2nd phase of Christ’s coming, then shouldn’t it have said: He will gather together the 2nd group of believers, since the 1st group were collected at the secret rapture?
Notice what the verse says: all the tribes of earth will mourn....and they will "see" the Son of Man....and with a great sound of a "trumpet" he will gather them....
Does this sound like a secret, that nobody realizes has happened, until cars start running off the road and planes crash; because people suddenly disappear and nobody knows why?
The “Left Behind” series, would have us believe, that the 1st group of believers will not be here for the “time of trouble” in the last days.
Is that biblical? Will the true church of today escape the tribulation and persecution of going through the “time of trouble” in the last days?
The "Left Behind" series says that: The true church of today will escape the tribulation and persecution of going through the “time of trouble” in the last days.
But in the bible, the word “tribulation” is used to describe the suffering of believers.
John 16 (v. 33) These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, “I have overcome the world.”
Acts 14 (v. 21) And when they had preached the gospel to that city and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch, (v. 22) strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.”
II Thes 1 (v. 3) ....because your faith grows exceedingly.... (v. 4) ....for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure, (v. 5) ....that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer.
In the bible, the word “tribulation” is used to describe the suffering of believers. But the left behind supporters claim, that God loves us too much, to let us suffer and that is why they have come up with the "secret rapture," right before the tribulation time.
The truth is that Christ, comes back only one time, to take back all believers to heaven. Now, let’s take a look at why God allows us to suffer through persecution!! (see next webpage)
