Years: 490 – 49 = 441 – 434 = 7 years of time left at Jesus baptism.
Weeks: 70 – 7 = 63 – 62 = 1 week of prophecy left at Jesus baptism.
When Christ was baptized, the Jews had 7 years left. This is the same 7 year period that “Left Behind” uses for their time line, as according to ( Dan 9:27 ).
Dan 9 (v. 27) Then He will confirm a Covenant with many for one week; but in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
Matt 10 (v. 5) These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: "Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. (v. 6) But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." (v. 7) And as you go, preach, saying, "The kingdom of heaven is at hand."
What happened when ( 3½ ) years of the 7 year prophecy had passed?
Matt 27 (v. 50) And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. (v. 51) Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split.
When Jesus yielded up His spirit, the veil of the temple, was torn in two, from top to bottom....This symbolized the end of sacrifices & offerings in the temple!!
Exod 26 (v. 33) And you shall hang the veil from the clasps. Then you shall bring the ark of the Testimony in there, behind the veil. The veil shall be a divider for you between the holy place and the Most Holy. (v. 34) You shall put the mercy seat upon the ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy.
Who was to dwell upon the mercy seat?
Exod 25 (v. 21) You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the Testimony that I will give you. (v. 22) And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony....
Why was there to be a divider between the holy place and the Most Holy?
Lev 16 (v. 2) and the Lord said to Moses: "Tell Aaron your brother not to come at just any time into the Holy Place inside the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark, lest he die; for I will appear in the cloud above the mercy seat."
So the veil, blocked the presence of the Lord from destroying sinners!!
Deut 4 (v. 24) For the Lord your God is a consuming fire....
What can we then conclude, if this 4 inch thick veil was ripped in half, from top to bottom; then does God’s presence dwell with the Jews anymore?
Who would they be sacrificing offerings to, if God was not there? Christ’s death symbolized the end of sacrifices & offerings in the temple!!
Heb 10 (v. 4) For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins. (v. 8) Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the law), (v. 9) then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second.
So, there is no need to re-build a Third Temple in Israel for sacrifices to start-up again!!
Heb 10 (v. 10) By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
(v. 11) And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. (v. 12) But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, (v. 14) For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
Jesus was anointed in the fall of 27 A.D. and He was crucified in the spring of 31 A.D., which would account for the middle ( 3½ ) years of the 7 year period.
Dan 9 (v. 27) ....but in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
So, Christ’s disciples preached salvation to the Jews during the rest of the ( 3½ ) years left on the time prophecy, completing the last 7 years of probation.
Heb 2 (v. 1) Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. (v. 3) how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him.
So, salvation began to be spoken by the Lord, and then confirmed to those who heard Him!!
Acts 6 (v. 8) And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people. (v. 9) Then there arose some from what is called the Synagogue of the Freedmen....disputing with Stephen. (v. 10) And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke.
Acts 6 (v. 11) Then they secretly induced men to say, “We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God.” (v. 12) And they stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes; and they came upon him, seized him, and brought him to the council.... (v. 14) ....for we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs which Moses delivered to us.” (v. 15) And all who sat in the council, looking steadfastly at him, saw his face as the face of an angel.
Acts 7 (v. 1) Then the high priest said, “Are these things so?” (v. 2) And he said, “Brethren and fathers, listen....
(v. 52) Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers, (v. 53) who have received the law by the direction of angels and have not kept it.” (v. 54) When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.
Acts 7 (v. 55) But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, (v. 56) and said, “Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!” (v. 57) Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord; (v. 58) and they cast him out of the city and stoned him.... (v. 59) And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”
Luke 13 (v. 34) “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing! (v. 35) See! Your house is left to you desolate;
That is quite different than what He said, in the beginning!!
John 4 (v. 21) Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. (v. 22) You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.
The Jews were not God’s chosen people anymore!! After the 490 years of probation, the Jews were the same as any other people. Each one separately, would have to accept Jesus Christ as the Messiah, if they wanted to be saved.
Acts 18 (v. 5) When Silas and Timothy had come from Macedonia, Paul was compelled by the Spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ. (v. 6) But when they opposed him and blasphemed, he shook his garments and said to them, “Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”
So, when the Apostle Paul said "I am clean." He really meant that "I am clear of my responsibility" of bringing the message to the Jews. When the 490 year period ended, the gospel then went out to the Gentiles; And the Jews had to each accept Christ individually, in order to be saved.
This 7 year period is the last part of the 490 year time prophecy that was already fulfilled over 2,000 years ago. It is not a time period in the future, as the “Left Behind” sponsors want you to believe!!
