Where do they come from?  What are they?

Although UFOs exist, it is irrational to believe they are visitors from other planets.  If they are not beings from another planet, what are they?  Believe it or not, your Bible has much to say about visitors from space.[1]

First of all, we must understand that all unexplained sightings or strange manifestations have their origin from one of two sources: the "natural" or the "supernatural."  There is no other choice.[1]

If the source is something in the "natural," it can be rationally explained by scientific fact.  If we rule out the natural physical explanations for UFO phenomena, we must consider the non-physical, "supernatural," or the spiritual realm.[1]

We have seen that the laws of physics prove the utter impossibility of physical intergalactic space travel.  Let us now examine some scriptures that will give us startling answers as to what is going on, in─and out─of this world.[1]

We find in the first chapter of the book of Ezekiel a description of four living creatures called cherubim....they appear to have been compound figures....[1]

Ezek 1  (v. 4) Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north....and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber (v. 5) Also from within it came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man.

(verse 6) Each one had four faces, and each one had four wings. (v. 7) Their legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the soles of calves’ feet. They sparkled like the color of burnished bronze. (v. 8) The hands of a man were under their wings on their four sides; and each of the four had faces and wings.

But now notice how they moved and how fast:

Ezek 1  (v. 9) ....The creatures did not turn when they went, but each one went straight forward. (v. 12) And each one went straight forward; they went wherever the spirit wanted to go, and they did not turn when they went. (v. 14) And the living creatures ran back and forth, in appearance like a flash of lightning.

In other words, the cherubim having four faces, each facing a different direction, moved at right angles.  They did not have to bank a curve.[1]  "the creatures did not turn when they went (v. 9)"  There coming and going was described as lightning.

How fast does lighting travel?  Lightning travels at around 220,000 miles per hour when traveling downwards from a cloud....[2]  This undoubtedly can explain the speed of UFO phenomena and how they can turn in right angles.

Now let's continue with the book of Ezekiel.

Ezek 1  (v. 15) Now as I looked at the living creatures, behold, a wheel was on the earth beside each living creature with its four faces. (v. 16) The appearance of the wheels and their workings was like the color of beryl, and all four had the same likeness. The appearance of their workings was, as it were, a wheel in the middle of a wheel.

(verse 17) When they moved, they went toward any one of four directions; they did not turn aside when they went. (v. 18) As for their rims, they were so high they were awesome; and their rims were full of eyes, all around the four of them. (v. 19) When the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.

Ezekiel speaks of the cherubim in connection with "a wheel in the middle of a wheel" and rims full of eyes, like lights.[1]  UFOlogists have been quick to seize upon this as a description of "other world" unidentified flying objects.[1]  But a careful reading of the rest of the book of Ezekiel will reveal that this vision was of a scene in heaven and not aliens from another planet.[1]

The first and second chapters of Ezekiel should also be carefully studied.  The wheels within wheels represented in this symbol was confusion to the finite eye. But a hand of infinite wisdom was revealed amid the wheels.  Perfect order is brought out of the confusion.  Every wheel works in its right place, in perfect harmony with every other part of the machinery.[3]

Ezek 1  (v. 22) The likeness of the firmament above the heads of the living creatures was like the color of an awesome crystal, stretched out over their heads. (v. 26) And above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a man high above it. (v. 28) ....This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.

As the wheel-like complications were under the guidance of the hand beneath the wings of the cherubim, so the complicated play of human events is under divine control.  Amidst the strife and tumult of nations, He that sitteth above the cherubim still guides the affairs of the earth.[4]

Dan 4  (v. 17) This decision is by the decree of the watchers, and the sentence by the word of the holy ones, in order that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, gives it to whomever He will, and sets over it the lowest of men.

A powerful influence, not under man's control, is working.  Man may fancy that he is directing matters, but there are higher than human influences at work.  The servants of God know that He is working to counteract Satan's plans. Those who know not God cannot comprehend His movements.  There is at work a wheel within a wheel.  Apparently the complication of machinery is so intricate that man can see only a complete entanglement.  But the divine hand, as seen by the prophet Ezekiel, is placed upon the wheels, and every part moves in complete harmony, each doing its specified work, yet with individual freedom of action.[5]

Someone has been visiting us here on this Earth!

We have been visited by "aliens" many times, but not by science fiction creatures from other planets or galaxies. Your Bible has reliable documentation that these "visitors" are not only from a different location, but a different dimension.  From time to time these aliens, spirit beings from God's dimension, break through the veil of our physical reality and make contact with us in our limited existence.[1]

God created the angelic realm before he created the worlds.  They were there to shout with joy when the worlds were created.[1]

Before the creation of man, angels were in existence:

Job 38  (v. 4) Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? (v. 7) When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Angels are sent on missions of mercy to the children of God....If God has granted to His children promise of grace and protection, it is because there are mighty agencies of evil to be met, agencies numerous, determined, and untiring, of whose malignity and power none can safely be ignorant or unheeding.[6]

Image #5
In the beginning, all the angels were good and holy:

Psm 148  (v. 1) Praise the Lord from the heavens.... (v. 2) Praise Him, all His angels.... (v. 5) Let them praise the name of the Lord, for He commanded and they were created.

Evil spirits, in the beginning created sinless, were equal in nature, power, and glory with the holy beings that are now God’s messengers.  But fallen through sin, they are leagued together for the dishonor of God and the destruction of men.[6]

They are all beings of a different nature than humans:

Psm 104 (v. 1) O Lord my God, You are very great....You are clothed with honor and majesty, (v. 2) Who cover Yourself with light as with a garment, (v. 4) Who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flame of fire.

The bible describes how they sometimes act, how they sometimes appear and disappear, and how they are sometimes perceived....We see in Scripture many instances in which angels visited men.[1]

Angels can appear out of nowhere and speak to us humans:

Judg 6  (v. 11) Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress.... (v. 12) And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!”

Angels can appear to bring messages from the Lord:

Luke 1  (v. 11) Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense. (v. 12) And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. (v. 13) But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son....

Angels can take on the shape of a bright shining object:

Matt 2  (v. 1) Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, (v. 2) saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews?  For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

The wise men had seen a mysterious light in the heavens upon that night when the glory of God flooded the hills of Bethlehem.  As the light faded, a luminous star appeared, and lingered in the sky.  It was not a fixed star nor a planet, and the phenomenon excited the keenest interest.  That star was a distant company of shining angels, but of this the wise men were ignorant.  Yet they were impressed that the star was of special import to them. They consulted priests and philosophers, and searched the scrolls of the ancient records. The prophecy of Balaam had declared, "There shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Scepter shall rise out of Israel." (Num. 24:17).[7]

Angels have special powers and can disappear in a blink of an eye:

Judg 6  (v. 21) Then the Angel of the Lord put out the end of the staff that was in His hand, and touched the meat and the unleavened bread; and fire rose out of the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened bread. And the Angel of the Lord departed out of his sight. (v. 22) Now Gideon perceived that He was the Angel of the Lord.  So Gideon said, “Alas, O Lord God!  For I have seen the Angel of the Lord face to face.”

Angels are very powerful and can appear as a bright light:

Matt 28  (v. 2) And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. (v. 3) His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. (v. 4) And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.

Angels can appear as normal human beings:

Heb 13  (v. 1) Let brotherly love continue. (v. 2) Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.

Gen 19  (v. 1) Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them.... (v. 2) And he said, “Here now, my lords, please turn in to your servant’s house and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.” And they said, “No, but we will spend the night in the open square.” (v. 3) But he insisted strongly; so they turned in to him and entered his house. Then he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

The bible describes angels as "ministering spirits" of God:

Heb 1  (v. 13) But to which of the angels has He ever said: “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool”?  (v. 14) Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

Angels can take on the form of a fiery chariot:

Image #7
II Kings 6  (v. 17) And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.”  Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw.  And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

In Second Kings we read how holy angels came on a mission to guard the Lord's chosen servants.  The prophet Elisha was in Dothan, and thither the king of Syria sent horses and chariots and a great host to take him....And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray Thee, open his eyes, that he may see.  And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw; and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha."  Angels of God came down in mighty power,...to minister....They came in mighty power to encamp round about the Lord's faithful servants.[8]

Angels can take on many different shapes and forms, perhaps at will.  There is also a realm of fallen angels.  It would make sense then, that if demons are fallen angels, they may possess many of the same powers that the faithful angels posses.[9]

Image #8

As such, fallen angels can take on any form they please, even appearing as angels of light.  These deceptive rebel angels often appear to humans in seemingly benign guises....[9]

II  Cor 11  (v. 13) For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. (v. 14) And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.  (v. 15) Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

The bible refers to the "bad angels" as demons.  These demons are very powerful and deceptive "tricksters" and are not limited to the physical molecular barriers we are limited to.  Our molecular 3-D world has no effect or restrictions on them.  For our own protection God does not want us fooling around with this other dimension.[9]
