The conclusion of the matter is after the research was finished, it was determined that the middle gospel, in the orange column, was what the bible intended to be preached to the people; but somehow the churches of our day have fallen into one of the two ditches of the slightly different gospels.
Each one of these gospels, when looked at alone, apparently represents the true gospel to preach, given that they each have bible commentary and scripture verses to back up their positions. But when compared side-by-side in a table chart like we have done in this study, the differences can be seen more clearly; and the true gospel must stand out.
When each gospel is seen in contrast to one another, it can be determined that the gospel on the "left" side in the blue column is a gospel that shines with a subtle form of legalism that is barely detectable until such a comparison is made. And the gospel on the "right" side in the green column is a relaxing, don't worry about it kind of message, which rings with a hint of the antinomianism form of doctrine which is so prevalent in today's churches.
These are the two ditches of the gospel that we were warned about when trying to stay on the straight and narrow path. For those who continue to stick to one of the other two gospels, are in danger of being pulled out of Christ.
II Pet 2 (v. 20) For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them then the beginning.
Gal 3:13, is the good news. “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having been made a curse for us.” That’s the gospel.[1]
Rom 4:16 is the conclusion. “Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure (Paul means that your salvation is guaranteed because it is based not on man’s promise but on God’s promise which He fulfilled in the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and this promise is sure)....[1]
Rom 4 (v. 16) Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all. (v. 17) as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations” in the presence of Him whom he believed....
The question is whether we have the faith of Abraham which is taking God at His word. It has nothing to do with our feelings; it has nothing to do with the human experience; it has nothing to do with the scientific method which denies any supernatural thing. It is taking God at His Word.[1]
When God says, “Put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh,” don’t say: “Show me somebody else who’s doing it.” The question is “Do you believe God’s Word?”[1]
God says in Galatians 5:16 to “Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh.” The question is whether you believe it and whether you are a child of Abraham.[1]
Faith is taking God at His word irrespective of your feelings, your reasoning, your rationale, the scientific method. This is what it means to be a child of Abraham.[1]
So when we put this knowledge of the 3 gospels into perspective, may it help us to stand firm during the time of trouble which will surely test our faith!
Christ did it all....Let’s take a moment right now and give Him the Praise and Worship that He deserves, by listening to this music video entitled “Christ is Enough” for me.
